Our Dental Team
At Dr. Rita's, we are more than a team, we are family! Most of our team has been working together for over 10 years;
some over 20 years. We can't wait to get to know you and would love for you to take the time to know us!
Dr. Rita
Dr. Rita graduated in 1983 from the College of St. Francis with a Bachelor of Science. She then graduated in 1988 from the Chicago College of Dental Surgery at Loyola University, further obtaining a Certificate of Specialty in Pediatric dentistry in 1990. She completed her residency at Loyola in 1990 and is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Rita has followed in the footsteps of her late mother, Teodora Tamulis, who studied dentistry in Lithuania and Germany before coming to Joliet in the early 1940's. She spoke Lithuanian until the young age of five then began learning english as she started school. Dr. Rita is still fluent in Lithuanian today.
With a gentle and caring heart, kids love coming to see Dr. Rita! She is always interested in learing more about her patients interests and strives to help them feel comfortable with dentistry.
Lisa
Lisa has been working our front desk for over 20 years. She specializes in insurance, treatment plans, and scheduling appointments. With three dogs at home, she is probably the biggest animal lover you will find! What she loves about her job: "I love watching how the kids grow up over the years as we see them and enjoy visiting with them."
Nancy
Nancy is a licensed hygienist and has been adding an energetic and fun atmosphere to our team since 1996. She graduated from Prairie State College in 1982. Nancy also gives dental health presentations at local schools so many of the kids may already know her before coming to the office. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters and weekends on the lake!
Kelley
Kelley became a part of our team in 2000. She is our patient account specialist and handles insurance issues. Kelley also coordinates Dr. Rita's schedule, making sure there is an alternate dentist available for our patients' emergency needs when Dr. Rita is out of town. When not at the office, Kelley loves to spend time with her family camping and trying new delicious recipes!
